Alaska river-man Tom Payton takes us on a trip up some of our states most famous rivers to learn about the history and culture of fish wheel use in Alaska. Unique historical footage illustrates the colorful origins and history of fish wheels and links us to present-day use and the people who still fish with Alaska’s Amazing Fish Wheels.

Outdoor Studies (ODS) students made University of Alaska Southeast history in May 2010 when they climbed North America’s highest peak for their capstone course. UAS faculty member Forest Wagner, staff, and students will recount their experiences and share photographs of the ODS program’s pinnacle adventure.
