Renewable Energy at Work

In the village of Angoon, Alaska, the average household pays $0.60 per kilowatt hour, or about $1,200 per month. This is 10 times higher than average electricity rates in the lower 48 States, and is unsustainable for the community. Sustain Angoon is about putting renewable energy to work where it's needed most. Using a demonstration house, weatherization techniques and renewable energy design are used to create energy independence.
High energy costs are a significant burden for most rural communities.
The Sustain Angoon Project is designed to educate and encourage rural residents of Alaska to take action and save energy.
