Special Suicide Intervention Programming

360 North, plans to televise Suicide Intervention and Coping with Suicide Loss, a presentation recorded in Juneau, featuring Dr. Bob Baugher from Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA. The special will air Sunday, September 12th at 8:00 p.m. and repeat on Monday, September 13th and 11 a.m. Dr. Baugher’s presentation focuses on suicide clues, emotional and thought patterns of people contemplating suicide and suggestions for coping with the suicide of a loved one. The program is presented by Hospice and Home Care of Juneau, with funding from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

Memorial Service for Hoonah Police Officers

360 North will televise the memorial service for Hoonah police officers Matthew Tokuoka and Anthony Wallace on Wednesday, September 8th at 8 p.m. Governor Sean Parnell and Public Safety Commissioner Joseph Masters are expected to speak. The service will be held in Hoonah’s new school gymnasium and law enforcement officers from Alaska, Canada and across the U.S. are expected to attend.

The Juneau-based Sealaska Corporation is helping to sponsor the special broadcast.
